Graduation

At the start of your final semester at NC State, you’ll need to apply for graduation. If you do not apply for graduation, you do not graduate.

In order to apply for graduation, there are a couple things you’ll need to do.

  1. Schedule a meeting with me to go over your degree audit one last time to make sure there are no surprises and that you will, in fact, be able to graduate at the end of the semester. DO NOT APPLY UNTIL YOU HAVE MET WITH ME FIRST.
  2. Fill out the graduation checklist. You’ll be given this in our meeting and/or emailed it.
  3. Complete the graduating senior survey. Take a screenshot or printscreen to confirm completion. You’ll submit this to the department.
  4. Submit your writing sample from a 400-level class within the LWR/RPW concentration to the department.
  5. Submit everything that’s needed to the department at least three days before the deadline. This way, if you accidentally miss something, you have the time to remedy the situation so you can still walk at graduation.
  6. Wait patiently while Dr. Phelps talks endlessly about how awesome you are and how happy she is for you. Cause it’s going to happen and there’s nothing you can do to stop me. (Okay, you technically can stop me, but c’mon! I’m proud of you!)
